NetEnt deal to see Gaumont’s worldwide hit television series Narcos a themed slot game

Swedish online casino games developer, NetEnt, (NETB:Stockholm) has agreed a deal with Gaumont International Television, the American television division of the 1896-founded French Gaumont; the first and oldest film company in the world, to produce a themed slot game based on the Golden Globe and Emmy ® award-nominated American crime drama web television series Narcos, which is currently in production for season 4 anticipated to premiere in early Sept. this year. Announced during a special introduction at ICE 2018, the new Narcos-branded slot title is based on the action-packed series, which premiered August 28, 2015, to both consumer and critical acclaim. The series has continued its growth of worldwide popularity, with the third season premiering on September 1, 2017 as the most in-demand digital original in the United States and one of the top five globally, according to the press release. A Netflix exclusive, Narcos currently enjoys an audience in more than 130 countries on the largest digital media and entertainment company in the world. Narcos is in good company as it joins NetEnt’s growing portfolio of branded games including Jumanji™, which was launched late last month; Planet of the Apes™ and Guns n’ Roses™, as the Stockholm-headquartered firm continues to secure the rights of titles that are world renowned. Chief Product Officer for NetEnt, Henrik Fagerlund, said, “We’re continuing to push boundaries with our branded games and Narcos is certainly one of our biggest deals to date. The series became an overnight sensation with a huge fan base all over the world and it gives us yet another demographic who can have fun playing our games.” Also commenting on the deal, Head of Legal and Business Affairs at Gaumont, Tim Stephen, added, “NetEnt is a world leading provider of premier online gaming solutions, and we trust them to develop and create a gaming property that will thrill the millions of Narcos fans around the world and provide a new way for them to experience and engage with the brand.” Attendees at this year’s ICE Totally Gaming going on now through Feb. 8th at ExCeL London, UK can learn more about the game at NetEnt’s Stand N3-242.
